Cars are on the grid, e-readers are charged, and the green flag is about to signal the start of this fast-paced enemies-to-lovers sports romance. It’ll be Lights Out and Away We Go on August 18th.

“Full Throttle” is a great entry point to the world of Formula 1. MacLaren does a good job of taking real life inspiration from motor sports and building a fictional world around it. Just look at her penname!
Readers can expect a fast-paced romance between Juliette Marchmont, the first female driver in Formula 1 and her new teammate, Dominic “Prince of F1” Hastings. These two are really teammates in name only; the heat and sparks flying off of these two could rival a Max vs. George head to head off the front row of the grid. IYKYK.
Juliette is enrolled at the Academy. It’s a school for race car drivers, prioritizing motorsport and race culture. She’s picked from a very select group of individuals to take a seat at Toro Significa, the feeder team for one of the top teams track. Dom, darling of the racing scene, finds himself in need of a new team after his father and ex-boss unceremoniously fires him for unnecessary antics in a previous race.
Dom and Juliette know each other, though. Their history could lead to either a championship worth celebrating, or a crash so big it causes an explosion.

Final Thoughts
You don’t really need to know anything about Formula 1 or motorsport to enjoy this fun, rivals to lovers, second chance romance. That being said, if you are a fan of both F1 and romance novels, this will be a fun story to get you through summer’s Silly Season.
Grab your favorite snack, beverage, and reading buddy, and settle in while Juliette and Dominic drive your heart in circles. No safety cars here, virtual or otherwise. We’re in it until the checkered flag waves on the last page.
